bespoke 6 classroom two storey building

A new and modern building was badly needed to replace an old and unfit for purpose modular building. This new space would enable a collaborative approach from all partners inclusive of education, health, social care and volunteers to provide a safe and inviting space to empower the learning of their children and young adults.

Linwood Campus is an outstanding, outward facing and self-improving centre of excellence in Bournemouth, Dorset. It provides inclusive teaching for children and young people with complex needs.

A bespoke 6 classroom two storey building was required to replace an old and unfit for purpose building.

Working with the team at Linwood Campus from concept stage, Modulek designed a truly unique and bespoke building which would change the way in which the children and young people would integrate and learn with the rest of the school.

the building

Consisting of an IT suite, classrooms, a lift, laundry, washrooms and direct access to the outdoor space. Every aspect of catering for the children and young adults’ complex needs was considered and integrated into the design and layout of the building.

Modulek provided a turnkey solution to include groundworks, service supply, delivery and installation, interior fit out and landscaping. The build project took 19 weeks from start to finish.

The building was named the Steve Brown Building to thank the previous Headteacher for all his years of service and for spearheading the project,

It was officially opened by The Worshipful the Mayor of Bournemouth, Councillor Lawrence Williams.
