planning a new classroom block?
requirements
After funding from CIF for a modular building was acquired, Modulek successfully completed this attractive two storey Geography Block building for Ringwood School on a full turnkey basis.
The two storey modern building consists of six classrooms, conference style rooms, staff room and an elevator for the disabled user.
The building was designed with teaching and learning in mind, the brief was to create a fresh and spacious environment, with inspiring imagery and colours inside each of its classrooms.
Thermal efficiency was also key in the planning of the new building, to reduce the school’s energy consumption and carbon footprint.
the building
One of the key elements of this project is that Modulek used their own unique acoustic floor that helps cushion sound from footfall as well as other noises associated with school buildings.
Modulek looked after every aspect of the project including the design, delivery and installation, internal and external fit out, internal furniture, furnishings, mechanical and electrical elements as well as paths and landscaping.
The opening of the new Geography building was a grand affair and palaeontologist Steve Etches MBE was invited to officially open the new building. Also in attendance was Ringwood’s Town Mayor Cllr Tim Ward Modulek LTD representative Brian Pester, Kevin Jones from Sheerin Bettle Architecture and geography and geology pupils at the school.
modular school buildings
Modern Methods of Construction lend themselves perfectly for the design and construction of new school buildings that benefit from a truly unique modular approach.
A modular school building is one that is constructed off-site as individual units and is then transported to site and erected into a complete building. Modular school buildings are the perfect solution to additional classroom blocks, sports halls, science labs, humanities blocks and sixth form buildings. The end results is often indistinguishable from a traditional school building.
