requirements
Fred Longworth High School have an ongoing relationship with Stratus9 Consulting Ltd to develop and implement their property strategy for the replacement of their end-of-life buildings.
Working with Stratus9 Consulting from the initial CIF funding bid development stage gave our design team the opportunity to create from a blank canvas the badly needed Humanities Block.
When the successful CIF application was approved Modulek were ready to prepare the site which included demolition of an existing building before any groundwork could commence.
Deliveries to site were organised around school hours to minimise disruption and congestion around the school site.
the building
The three-storey building provides spacious teaching areas, washroom facilities, meeting areas for teaching staff and office space.
Phase 1 of the school’s property strategy was completed in 20 weeks on site and all within budget.

modular school buildings
Modern Methods of Construction lend themselves perfectly for the design and construction of new school buildings that benefit from a truly unique modular approach.
A modular school building is one that is constructed off-site as individual units and is then transported to site and erected into a complete building. Modular school buildings are the perfect solution to additional classroom blocks, sports halls, science labs, humanities blocks and sixth form buildings. The end results is often indistinguishable from a traditional school building.
