overview
As part of Hamble Marina’s growth plans, an additional eight individual retail units were required to be constructed at the heart of its busy thriving marina.
Instructed by clients Marina Developments Limited, we designed and constructed the retail units during the busy Summer season. Our unique hybrid construction methods meant that construction could take place whilst the Marina was in its busiest footfall period and also ensured that the project was completed on time.
It was important that the nautical theme was the centre of our design. The new buildings have large expansive glazing to the front and sides of each retail unit to create an outdoor feel to enhance the shopping experience.

the buildings
The external envelope consisted of Thermowood Cladding and Aluminium Glazed Screens, to create a maintenance free façade essential for a marine and any coastal environment.
The rear exit door to each unit provided access to a raised viewing platform, enabling easy access and viewing of the boats for sale. The fully air conditioned, open plan sales floor was complimented by a separate individual office for privacy when required. A modern kitchen and bathroom facility were provided for each sales unit, creating the ultimate working conditions for all the sales staff.
The retail units were designed to blend with their coastal environment, and coupled with the yacht spinnakers in the background, they create a stunning backdrop for a perfect customer shopping experience.
